Beyond Wheelabrator’s dedication to clean, effective waste-to-energy solutions, our Bear Creek facility in Saugus MA, is proud to offer the communities we serve the Wildlife at Work and Corporate Lands for Learning programs. Through these programs, and as a member of the Wildlife Habitat Council, we are part of a nonprofit, non-lobbying group of corporations, conservation organizations and individuals dedicated to enhancing and restoring wildlife habitat.

The Bear Creek site, consisting of a waste-to-energy plant, former landfill, and active ash landfill provides ecological and environmental educational opportunities for the surrounding communities. As well as operating a 1,500 ton per day waste-to-energy plant, the site is home to various habitats and species, many of which are on the endangered, threatened, and special concern lists.
